Background
The
parish was formed in 1932 in the Dovecot and Knotty Ash areas
of Liverpool. It is one of the largest Catholic parishes in
the Archdiocese with a Catholic population of 6,500, about 15%
of whom celebrate their faith.
The other 85% we are trying to involve in church through our BEC
project (Basic Ecclesial Communities or Base Ecclesial
Communities) see our link for more details of this exciting
venture.
It has separate Infant and Junior Schools with a combined pupil
total of just over 1000 children.
This large and vibrant Catholic community is led and co-ordinated
by a mixed team which meets on a weekly basis for planning,
discernment and prayer.
